Total Eclipse Airstream Rally
On April 8th there was a Total Eclipse that was visible in much of the United States. We traveled to Lampasas, Texas to attend an Airstream Rally. Lampasas, Texas, located in the Texas Hill Country, has a rich history that dates back to its founding in the 1850s. We stayed at Texas Legato Winery which was located in the center of the path of totality.

Running through spring flowers at Inks Lake state park. We ran most of the 9 miles of trails in the park.
Inks Lake State Park, located in the Texas Hill Country, is a popular destination known for its scenic beauty and diverse recreational opportunities. The park, which spans over 1,200 acres, is centered around Inks Lake, a reservoir on the Colorado River. It offers a variety of activities for outdoor enthusiasts, including hiking, camping, fishing, boating, and swimming.
One of the park's highlights is the nine miles of hiking trails that wind through rocky hills, woodlands, and along the lake shore. The terrain is diverse, featuring everything from rugged cliffs to serene valleys.

Eclipse time! We had a mixture of sunny and cloudy weather during the eclipse but got to see most of it. Unfortunately a cloud moved in during the 4 minutes of totality so we didn’t get the full experience.
A composite of photos as the moon slowly eclipsed the Sun over more than an hour.
The only picture of totality I was able to capture.
Lesson learned: don’t drive on dirt roads after a rainstorm! We got the truck and trailer stuck in the mud on the way to a campground. Fortunately, a helpful rancher drove by and was able to pull us out.
Stopping for lunch in eastern Colorado on the way home.
